There’s No Leaving New York
Our rad friends and frequent collaborators, The National, hit us up to design everything but the kitchen sink for their 2018 music festival titled “There’s No Leaving New York.”
As New Yorkers, we were inspired by the one streetside aesthetic that our eyes can never escape from — the iconic layered wheatpaste tapestry throughout the city.
So we created a flexible typographic design system inspired by this aesthetic to live on everything from festival merch, video animations, and (obviously) a series of wheatpaste posters that blanketed the city. The posters were actually so popular that many of them were stolen right off the walls. We might’ve taken one or two ourselves.
