The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe
I fell in love with Poe's work when I was just a teenage girl. The mysterious atmospehere and the play with symbolism appeal to me even now. So there was no surprise that I chose to typeset The Raven - when I had to decide what project to do for my typography course.
I wanted the illustrations to have an eerie atmosphere just as the poem itself and also to portray the loneliness, void and pursuit of something gone - by setting tiny character into contrast with vast gargantuan environments under the night sky.
