Certain fonts and colours have unspoken meanings that a consumer instantly recognises, and by acknowledging these traditions we can begin to use and experiment with them to create new ones.

This was a university project where we took two products with different target markets and switched the visual signifiers, thus altering their meanings and target audience. The final output was the two redesigned packages printed and mocked up as the actual products. As well as being a great exercise to flex my Adobe skills it made me pause and reflect on graphic design conventions and their societal significance. Ensuring every little detail replicated the original was at times difficult but the final product made the time spent worth it.
