Oreo "Cookie Balls" The brief was like a bad dream. A big live action holiday spot had just been cancelled. Instead, the brand needed to shift focus to its recipe community. The recipe of the season? Cookie balls. We were handed some visual assets and asked to make a simple social post. We made some. Then, to cheer up the team, I wrote a truly ridiculous track and Magnus animated it using the assets the clients had given. We played it at the end of the meeting for a lark. They bought it on the spot. LA personality JINX rapped it. Adweek named it the best ad of the season and it got on Good Morning America.
We did it again for Halloween. Winning lyric: "Girl, last night I saw some Spooky Balls."
