Homo neanderthalensis
The divergence time between the Neanderthal and archaic Homo sapiens lineages is estimated to be between 800,000 and 400,000 years ago. His evolution story had place in Europe, while modern humans originated in Africa.
They met again in the Middle East and lived alongside for several millenia until Neanderthal extinction, about 40.000 years ago.
