As part of the celebration for DAAPworks 2013, our senior class was given the opportunity to develop an identity for our senior show that celebrates the new Graphic Communication Design (GRCD) program at the University of Cincinnati. A merger of the Graphic and Digital Design departments, GRCD represents all the interactive, time-based, and print design students. Focusing on our individuality, versatility, and unity we were able to create the winning identity to represent GRCD 2013.
Personal responsibilities included the creation of environment graphics for the identity presentation, development of photo portrait standards, implementation and management of the Facebook and Tumblr presence, and visual design of the email blasts.
Our identity utilized a horizontal photographic composition, low contrast lighting, and black and white colors. Marks were placed at various scales interacting with the student, but not obstructing their faces.
Our facebook page was used to promote the DAAPworks 2013, it featured links to featured students on the tumblr, event invites, kickstarter promotion, and special thanks.
Our tumblr was used as a companion to GRCD2013.com. Intended to be a more intimate experience it features student interviews and our process in preparing for the GRCD exhibition at DAAPworks 2013.
The email blast was sent out to remind parents, family, alumi about the upcoming event and the launch of GRCD2013.com.
