Space parachute systems

Space.

Since ancient times Man had been dreaming of conquering it. The journey to the stars began as far back as 1961, when the USSR took the unprecedented challenge of sending a human into outer space.
The journey into outer space began began from «First Squade», which was formed as a result of a long and tough selection from 3461 pilots resulted in a shortlist of 20.

Future cosmonauts had to go through hundreds of hard tests in the most challenging conditions as they were to eject from the spacecraft during landing.
All starts in the small town of Kirzhach, Vladimir Region, where numerous training sessions were held on the airfield.
The results were positive: the first human spaceflight was to be accomplished.
In order to ensure the landing of future cosmonauts and the re-entry capsule of the Vostok spacecraft new parachute systems were specially designed, tested, and produced.
On 12th April 1961, at 9:07 a.m. UTC+3 the spacecraft Vostok with Yuri Gagarin on board was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
Having orbited Earth once the spacecraft began descent. Owing to good training and thoroughly tested parachute system Yuri Gagarin adroitly controlled the suspension lines to land 1,500 metres away from the Volga river rather than into its freezing water. The world broke into applause.
In 1967 Venera 4, a Soviet-made lander, was the first in the world to complete a 90-minute parachute descent in the Venus atmosphere.
On 2nd December 1971 Mars 3 descent module was the first to land on the surface of the Red Planet.
The Soyuz project developed in the late 1960s started the next generation of spacecraft.
In the near future Soyuz will be replaced by Federation, a reusable piloted spacecraft.
A way to other planets and stars will open. Humans will not stop dreaming of outer space, nether will outer space stop dreaming of them.
