A painting of a belly dancer I did in the summer of 2012 , it was from a time i was obsessed with them and the culture- mainly I had a fascniation with Middle Eastern culture driven by the fact I would like to visit Instanbul and hearing about a lecture on Orientalism. It is painted in gouache , which took about 2 months,
this piece shows my skill in traditional medias/ draughtsmanship.
it invokes a good sense of tones and shadows which I polished through experimentations with the gouache.
