Intangible Senses to Intriguing Benches

As a Celebration to the American Pianists Association's Classical Fellowship Awards, this piece not only celebrates the awarded pianist, but also the beauty of pianos and the way in which they bring the community together.  The thinking behind this project is to break the intangible relationship between piano and audience and invite people to explore the inner beauty of this intrument.  The metal frame and tuning peg become exposed as the visual interests, which are traditionally hidden away.  The visual impact upon pedestrians will be intriguing- as most people have never seen the insides of a piano- and also inviting, as a public bench.
