Bone Carving Craft
This project was a part of our craft cluster. Bone carving in Lucknow was the craft the we worked upon. We had to learn about the craft and revive it through our design knowledge.
The inspiration are the arches that are an important part of Lucknow’s cultural heritage. All the monuments have defined arches that are an integral part of the city.
Bone Carving Products
These products are made from animal bones. The bones are cleaned stuck together and then carving is done upon them very intricately.
Wall mounted shelves were the products that I came up with as a part of my craft cluster project.
In this project we worked with the bone carving artisans and learned about this craft, the process and worked with the artisans to introduce them with new designs and help them revive this age old craft.
