The concept of my Book Cover was
inspired by Victor Peace's MAUMBO
Maumbo means Shapes, and I wanted to use my mother tongue 'Marathi' to rename shape. So shape in Marathi is called AAKAR.
The concept involves combining the relationship between the natural beauty with the basic geometric shapes. I wanted to show how the basic geometric shapes that are created by humans are inspired by the natural things.
Humans developed a language for themselves to understand nature better, and creation of geometrical shapes was among one of the few languages we developed to understand the shape of every natural thing available in our surrounding and imitate them as a texture or print or imitating them.
This book cover abstractly shows coexistence of nature, humans and our needs, and how we need to respect each other and set boundaries on the usage of things
available in nature.
