Color is more than a palette. It is life, and is present in all aspects that surround it. Throughout history the use of color in all aspects of photography has been viewed as an expression of power and a way of representation. The intension of this photoshoot is to create a series of images where color plays a significant role in the creation and idea within the image. My theme is to use the colors; red, green, and blue to represent the subject I am photographing, reconstructing her character to personify a sense of authority. Blue symbolizing confidence, freedom, and stability; red representing passion, strength, leadership, radiance, and energy; and lastly green implying life, renewal, growth and harmony. All characteristics that represent the women I am aiming to portray. My concept therefore is to transform the representation of woman through color in portraiture displaying her as powerful and strong.
