A study project realized as a third year student at the Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam the Netherlands.
This tablecloth shows a critical attitude towards the over-consuming Westerner, while one-ninth of the world lives in poverty. Western wealthy patterns are mixed with images of the emaciated living in poverty. This contrast gets emphasized by the unpleasant, almost unnoticeable and out of the ordinary collaborations between the two. This project provokes
self-reflection by confronting the over consumer at the moment of overconsumption. By blending in images of the deprived, the message will slowly become visible as people start noticing the odd collaboration within this pattern.

This project is realized at TextielLab in Tilburg, the Netherlands. They are known in Europe for their prototypes , autonomous work and exclusive productions. Visitors witness how projects made by designer, artists and architects come to life.
