SIMPLIFICATION OF SHAPES
This personal concept, which holds its bases on the inspiring ideas of Bruno Munari, aims to simplify those shapes that may appear to the eyes of many as complex, and which, as a matter of fact, can hardly be defined so. Any design idea is surrounded by a thin shell that, almost as a constraint, is based to the most basic dimensional shapes and to elements’ modularity. Using a reconstruction aimed to be as simple and approachable as possibile, this work aims, only by using colored regular solids, to regularize complex geometrical shapes; my main purpose is to show the hidden simplicity that lays behind the apparent complexity of iconic industrial products.
