So, the brief was to create a wall mural (to be implemented on a 760 x 230 cm bar wall by fellow artist Ammar Abou Bakr and wall art collective Heetan) based on old Egyptian film posters, and distorted by a little glitch.
I chose a few lighthearted posters with popular actors and actresses such as Fouad El Mohandes, Souad Hosni and Shkouko, and jazzed them up with some light distortion and coloring, so that they would stand out against the typically dark mood of a bar.
Before I was set on the final designs, I did a few experiments to get a sense of what would work and what wouldn't, in coordination with my contact to the client.
