Ville de Val d'Or

Val-d'Or has a population of 33 000 inhabitants and is the gateway to the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec. It is home to a unique culture and enjoys an economy based on resources and the service industry. For Locomotive, giving citizens a sense of belonging and presenting the local community in its rich natural environment was the guiding light behind the project.

Relying on its extensive municipal experience, Locomotive hired a local photographer to create exclusive content for a new city portal. A wide array of tools, practical information, news, events and an interactive map of the city were made easy to manage by Val d’Or city administrators. Locomotive used Charcoal, its own open-source content management system, along with other proprietary technologies developed in-house and tailored for municipalities.
