Fintech Scotland Website

Fintech Scotland is a project created for the Scottish government where provide an opportunity for business creation and growth through the provision of funding, guidance, support and infrastructure. The aim was to attract entrepreneurs, large firms, investors, and talent to its thriving fintech hub across Scotland from all over the world. Ultimately allowing investors to discover and connect with potential investment opportunities.

Our task was to communicate Scotland as a leading edge fintech location to both local and global users interested in Investment, relocation and/or talent sourcing.
In addition to that, they wanted to inform and educate users about career opportunities, where they could up skill. Keeping the community up to date with a fortnightly newsletter.

The purpose and audience for each page were unclear across the old Fintech site. It also lacked a reason for Fintech’s and investors to return to the site. There was no meaningful utility that gave the Scottish Fintech community a sense of belonging.

Our biggest challenge was not only to create a platform that interlinked all the ramifications that facilitate the development of a startup but also the creation of a strong community with active users.

It was important to create an Ecosystem that would allow partners, investors and partners one place to exist together.
A new website with the user at the heart of the design has become a place where the Fintech Scotland ecosystem lives online. The new Fintech site gives each of the Fintechs a place to showcase their work and look for investment. A community forum gives a dedicated place for them to discuss topics and ask questions. This service is exclusively available to the startups and companies connected with Fintech Scotland.
The design was focus to follow a high standard modern and slick design, following the same visual trend and language of the new financial startup market.

The design of the pages was thought with the user-centred in mind, having a fluidity of information and using abstract images for the representation of the content, eliminating technical blurb, creating a light communication and ease understanding to all.

Like all our other projects, not only was build the page templates but an extensive design system, where have all documented colours, typographies, image styles, and all types of assets needed for the expansion of the without any difficulties. Most of the pages were also created based on modules, facilitating the construction of new pages.
Since the launch of the project in September 2018, Fintech increase startup community from 29 companies to over 100 startups, helping great ideas receive investments and grow the tech market in Scotland.
