I have been working on honing my portrait work using Adobe Photoshop, and needed to update my personal brand as well. I've always been interested in Southern Gothic imagery and Southern imagery in general, as I have lived my whole life in Southern Alabama. This project allowed me to self-reflect and find some small symbols for myself, while also creating a portrait that I can be proud of. The halo is an image that I have incorporated into a few of my personal pieces in reference to older religious pieces from medieval and renaissance art. The skulls in the piece tie into the Southern Gothic while the actual animal, the mockingbird, fits the area and my generally non-serious attitude.
