Fashion in Film: Book Covers
I was tasked with designing an anthology of screenplays for Penguin to attract a cinema going audience to literature. I chose ‘Fashion in Film’ as my theme, selecting Yves Saint Laurent, The Devil Wears Prada and Coco Chanel as my films. I juxtaposed the fashion and magazines within the films with original research material and annotated illustrations which allowed for a new perspective on the working methods of the fashion industry and on the role of different media in the creation of their work.
I wanted to employ the idea of fashion curation through my series logo, which is why my final design is a hand drawn outline
of a sewing machine as it symbolises traditional design within the industry.
