Seven days of a volunteer's life
April 26.
I saw a strange advertisement about some volunteer project. So I thought: why not? You know, I’m really into all this stuff we do there. Also there is food and someone to talk to, and it’s a good way to spend my free time. And food.
April 30.
Today was the first meeting of the “Volunteer circle”. No, it is not an official name, but it sounds cool. We were told what it was going to be. I’d write it down right here, but I think I fell asleep so… Okay, the first speaker was really boring (and not so fancy, by the way) that I just couldn’t help it. Now to the next week.

What we have at the moment is a couple of drafts for how it’s supposed to work. But it’s Victory day soon and nobody really cares about our project. I’m sure we’ll be doing something productive some day, but not this one. And not tomorrow. Maybe next week.

May 14.
There was no meeting today. Actually there was, but only with me and two other girls, not including a guy who went there by mistake. They were really nice and we’d talked like for an hour. Mira, one of these girls, showed me her drawings. Watercolour, black gel pen, some crayon sketches. I liked them. I mean these drawings were beautiful. And when we closed the classroom door we saw the announcement that there was a literature exam that week and, therefore, no volunteer meeting.
May 21.
Well, a bit more than a week until the final event. I decided to find out what it actually was about. As I discovered it was called “City of masters” and it was a festival for children where they could experience different professions. It’s great when you can try. You can choose what is yours and what is not. We took our booklets and listened to the lecture on how we should talk to kids.
May 28.
The festival is in 3 days. We’re almost ready. I can say for sure that everything will be alright.

May 31.
The day has come. The event took place in Park Yunost' (can’t imagine a better place for such kind of activity). There were military men, IT specialists, Emergency services and much more. I just have to admit that there were future occupations like cyber-janitor. I saw the shining in the eyes of a new generation. It was interesting even for me and other adults. Masterclasses, exhibitions, communicating with professionals. It was so exciting. I decided for myself that if there is a new volunteer project, I’m in!
Thank you for your attention!
