The tragedy of love between Dido and Aeneas is presented in a poetic rewriting opera that offers a new opportunity to lovers. Dido can not resist the desire that will inevitably lead her to death.
This staging contrasts the version of Dido and Aeneas by the English composer Henry Purcell with the contemporary version of the Mexicans Ana Franco and Diego Piñera written for soloists, mixed choir, children's choir, piano and electronic music.
The contemporary version allows us to enter into the tangle of thoughts, desires, the past and present of Dido and how she resists Aeneas without achieving it.
