An experienced business and legal advisor, Rebecca Gaskin Gain has served as a senior court attorney with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of New York and a privatization advisor to multiple foreign governments. Since 2015, she has been a principal with Nexant in Washington, D.C. When she isn’t working, Rebecca Gaskin Gain enjoys listening to world music artists such as Youssou N'Dour.

The foundations of Youssou N'Dour’s music lie in the traditional music of his Senegalese homeland, but he creates songs that are uniquely personal expressions. He may be most widely known for his collaborations with popular Western performers such as Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon, but Mr. N'Dour has released dozens of albums as a solo artist.

One of Mr. N'Dour’s most notable releases is Egypt, the winner of the Best Contemporary World Music Album at the 2004 Grammy Awards. Egypt was a notable departure from the rest of his oeuvre because it employed a range of melodic and rhythmic elements from the world of Arabic music. In addition to Mr. N'Dour’s standard quartet, this album featured the renowned 14-piece traditional Arabic ensemble the Fathy Salama Orchestra.
