"FOLK": A Neil Young Fictional Magazine Cover

I wanted to create a unique magazine cover utilizing illustration derived from photography. With Neil Young as the subject, I worked to produce a line-work illustration that spoke to his storied history as a music legend. I typeset the cover to feel both nostalgia and literary. The frozen-in-time vibe is derived from muted colors and engraving-like line work to cement Neil's image as a rock and roll icon. "Rust Never Sleeps" is one of my favorite albums, and I may have listened to it about 50 times all the way through while working on this piece.
