Jack and the Beanstalk
For this project we were assigned a random topic to create a symbol. I was assigned the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. In this project I chose to focus on the Giant because I wanted to show the power that the Giant projects within the Story. The Giant is behind a cloud to depict how large he is in comparison and how hidden he is in the sky. I added a beanstalk to show how the Giant could be reached through the cloud. The castle turret shows the wealth of the Giant. The Giant has pointy teeth to show how unnatural he actually is, and also gives reference to other stories where the Giant is an Ogre. I chose the colours green and grey. The grey identifies the cloud and the castle turret and their connection to each other and the cloud acts like a ground for the castle. The green shows the natural elements of the vine.
