MAKE THE MUNDANE MAGNIFICENT 2012 // SCISSORS

Colourscheme

The colourscheme is inspired by the mating strategy of the common side-blotched lizard, which has been compared to rock-paper-scissors. Of the three male colour types, “orange beats blue, blue beats yellow and yellow beats orange” when in competition for females.
Texture

It is read the japanese way, from top to bottom, right to left and hand printed
using woodblocks to reflect the physical action of rock-paper-scissors. It also alludes
to having to make a quick, raw decision to throw either rock, paper or scissors to win.
