String Installation

String Installation
This project is located in Wymering Manor, where the historic building is concerted into as a multifunctional exhibition space for the community. It aims to create installations in a historic house to capture glimpses of the house's history. This project examines how 3D printing tools can be used in historical settings where methods are presented in which 3D printing can be used as an informative way in interior design and historic buildings. Across history, rug patterns have worked as a reflection of the culture and capture significant historical events. Rug patterns inside the house, carpet making process, and the thread were used to develop the concept of installations. Moreover, considering that the manor's reputation as a haunted house, a responsive hologram inside the installation would greet the visitors once they step inside it. This installation will be manufactured with the help of 3D printers, and robotic arms and biodegradable recycled plastic materials will be used to create an environmentally friendly design.
