Paraphrase of Pablo Picasso,“Guernica”

Paraphrase of Pablo Picasso,“Guernica”
“Guernica” is an anti-war art piece drawn from the Guernica indiscriminate bombing.
I took this picture as a pure depiction of the misery of the Guernica air strike. Since this bombing targeted civilians, I feel that the motifs of the people who suffered are most important. Therefore I extracted some motifs from the picture. By burning those motifs I made from wood, I tried to imagine the smell of the burn. Because most of the victims were women and children, I placed a crying woman, carrying her deceased child, in the center of my paraphrase.
