THE GOAL: A personal narrative.  As students in the multimedia lab at the Center for Advance Research and Technology, our last and final project was to create something that was personal to us, a personal narrative if you will.  With the freedom to create anything, we had to come up with a concept and make design choices that complimented our aesthetics.                

I am Hmong, Hmong American.  I wanted to showcase and share my culture through the lens of my camera, my own perspective on what being Hmong means to me.  With our culture comes many things, such as traditional clothing.  Every pattern, stitch work, and embroidery has a story behind it.  The bright vivid colors and the textures of materials compliment each other well.  I wanted to make sure I kept as much color as possible to make the clothing pop.  Using color correction and tutorials to make my saturation and contrast levels even.  I wanted every little detail to shine through and be noticeable.  Lastly, I added cinematic bars to make my video appear clean and it pulled my whole project together.
