本創作為台灣特有注音符號結合立體書的設計，亦是第一本以「動詞」為主題的字母書。注音符號能組合成一個個具有意義的「動詞」發音 ，而立體書則是以頁面間的摺合所產生獨特的「動作」著稱，因此將中文字「動詞」結合立體書「動作」為本書的一大特點。透過立體書特殊的結構，鮮豔的顏色與簡潔的設計風格，提升注音符號的使用質感，讓注音符號以不同形式的「美」帶給人們更多的啓發。
This is a creative design for Taiwan’s unique Mandarin phonetic symbols in the form of a pop-up book. Through the unique structure of the pop-up book, bright colors and simplistic design style, the use of the phonetic symbol system is elevated to the level of designer merchandise. The subject of “AesthetiCell” is touched in the form of pop-up book so that children can indirectly develop a sense of aesthetics while learning the phonetic symbols.
The 37 phonetic symbols are integrated into meaningful “verbs,” which are illustrated with picture cards that pop up as the pages are turned. Each verb is then accompanied with a sentence to help small children remember the pronunciations. Abstract phonetic symbols were visualized through creativity. It is also hoped that native Mandarin speakers who don’t know this phonetic symbol system can build an interest when turning the pages and learn more about the system by linking the movements in the pop-up book with the meanings of the phonetic symbols. It is a different form of “beauty” that brings more inspiration to people.
