I would like to celebrate the 100th anniversary of István Örkény’s birth with this worthy promotional package,
which could be used as a prize at literary competitions or as educational supplementary material. The elements of the package are unified through the logotype, the color scheme and the visual aspects. The package contains a paper cut illustrated collection of Örkény’s selected grotesque short stories, a “one-minute story” animation titled “About what grotesque is” , a tactical board game based on the short story called “Tengertánc” (“Sea-Dance”) as well as an indoor poster.
 

 

 

I want to present a strange world, which appears ordinary at first glance. I tried to cheat the viewer; I would liked to imitating the methods of digital imagery with real, manual techniques.

The board game is made after the same titled short story of István Örkény. It is a modern strategic game, that simultaneously playable by 2–4 player. The box contains a turnable circle game field with a transparent surface, different tokens, a die and the rulebook. I made rules for three different games, but the players can simply make new rules anytime.

 

We can exhibit the poster accordingly to our mood, and we can fix the viewpoint with the sticker of the logo.
