PIRAA Logo Design
Post Secondary Indigenous Recruitment Association of Alberta

The Brief

The client was a web developer making a website for PIRAA. They asked me to create a logo for the non-profit organization for use on the website and for the non-profit organization to use themselves in the future.

PIRAA is an organization that helps make learning easier. They offer placement tests and high-level courses for high-school students across the province of Alberta. They aim to help inform their target audience about the value of post-secondary education.

The Direction

The only requirement from the client was that the logo had to incorporate the colour orange. I wanted the logo to convey the educational nature of their organization as well as represent the fact that they operate Alberta-wide, so I tried to integrate the shape of Alberta into a book.
The Logo

The final logo can be used in three ways, depending on the context:

1. As an icon
2. With the organization's acronym
3. With the full organization name.

The book is tilted slightly to fit nicely with the slanted side of the "A" at the end of PIRAA.

Since I was only creating the logo and not other aspects of the organizations branding, I wanted to create a final product that was flexible and easy for the organization to use going forward in whatever form their brand took.
