Wikipedia Redesign

In this project we were required to redesign Wikipedia so we could improve the user experience within the website focusing on findability and usability. To add on we'll need to create a nudging strategy that makes the user to contribute to wikipedia. This redesign will contain for design which will be the landing page, home page, create an article and one dark mode design.

The Design

Design from Wikipedia's traditional layout, I decided to keep the side navigation on the right with the simple W logo. The aim for the design was to design something that would be simple to use but also design something that's classy and still serious. The design contains colour codes used to label things.

The Nudging Strategy

The strategy for nudging deals with giving users compliment and in return they will help wiki edit and create articles. The idea is that a happy user is always happy to help, and this will help with credibility within wiki articles. The bot will link related articles and requested articles where a user can choose which one they want to use. Another one is the Did You Know section where you can find a link to edit the article's facts which helps improve the article.

Findability

The findability strategy falls under the bot that you will get within every page and it will differ with each page. The bot will help with finding information and help you navigate within a page depending on which page you on e.g if you on the create an article page,the bot will help you write and insert information in the right places.

Usability

The usability strategy focuses on helping users find credible information they can use in an easy and understandable way. This grading system is the usability strategy which will deal with highlighting the credibility of each article on Wikipedia.
