Álvaro Siza: Perspectives

This project was conceived for the third assignment in ESAD's MA in Communication Design, Ways of Seeing. The purpose of the exercise was to pick any theme and make three final versions, each one consisting on a different approach to the subject. My pick was Álvaro Siza.
1. Oito Pontos Quase ao Acaso
The first version of the project – Eight Points Almost at Random – consists on a booklet containing a small text by Siza, where he talks about his work method and gives some “advice”, in the shape of eight numbered points. Each piece of text in the booklet is accompanied by a small illustration of his.
2. Álvaro Siza pela objetiva de Fernando Guerra
The second part is a photography book named Álvaro Siza in the lens of Fernando Guerra, and it focuses specifically on Siza's works that have a connection with their natural surroundings. All photos are authored by Fernando Guerra, a photographer who has a good relationship with Siza.
3. SIZA / SAAL
The last part is a brochure with information about the social housing project SAAL, which Siza was a part of. Its objective was to explore the architect relationship with the users. The front of the brochure gives general context to SAAL, while the back focuses on the two neighborhoods Siza was responsible for: Bouça and São Victor.
