For this Supplement project, we were given a choice to make either a book of contrasts, or a book of music or poetry. I was inspired to make a lyric book for Kendrick Lamar's song, "YAH." off of his Grammy and Pulitzer Prize winning album, "Damn." Modeling the style and color scheme off of the original album cover, I aimed to translate the kinetic energy I felt in the song onto the page. The end pages feature a pattern of DAMN. and the lyric spreads use texture and imagery to reinforce the words. Press play to follow along!
