This videomapping show on the facade of Krasnoyarsk Pushkin Drama Theatre is based on an ancient legend of the Evenks, indigenous people, who live in the area of Krasnoyarsk for thousands years.
According to the legend, the sky elk once stole the Sun and our world was swallowed by darkness. An Evenk hunter Mani chased him with his two dogs, shot the elk, and returned the Sun to the root of heaven, after which Mani, his dogs and the elk turned into Milky way. Since then people have days and nights, and stars in the sky.

По легенде, однажды небесный лось похитил Солнце, и мир погрузился во тьму. В погоню за лосем пустился эвенкийский охотник Мани с двумя собаками. Мани поразил лося стрелой и вернул Солнце на небосвод, после чего сам охотник, его собаки и лось превратились в Млечный путь. С тех пор люди наблюдают за сменой дня и ночи и любуются звездным небом.

Our visual approach to content was based on this contrast between light and darkness. For the content we used original shaman's drawings and petroglyph images, Evenk traditional ornaments. Original music instruments and themes were used for creating unique sound design.
The 7 minutes show took place in the center of Krasnoyarsk as a part of 2019 Winter Universiade festive activities and was well received by thousands of people.

Наш подход к визуализации легенды основан на контрасте между светом и тьмой. Мы вплели в шоу настоящие рисунки шаманов и петроглифические изображения, а также традиционные орнаменты эвенков. Звучание музыкальных инструментов народов Сибири легло в основу аудиосопровождения шоу.

На показе 7-минутного шоу, прошедшего в рамках мероприятий Зимней Универсиады 2019 центре Красноярска, присутствовали тысячи зрителей.

Shaman begins his tale about the world structure, and the drawings on his tambourine start to move // Шаман начинает сказание об устройстве мира, и на его бубне оживают орнаменты

Shaman talks about world tree and world river, growing and flowing through the universe //

Он рассказывает мировом дереве и мировой реке, объединяющие все сферы мироздания

Than he describes, that the world is divided to the underworld, earth and heaven, to north and south, to east and west // О делении мира на преисподнюю, земное пространство и небеса, на север юг, запад и восток

About the time, when the sun was shining endlessly // О временах, когда солнце светило непрерывно.

But once the sky elk stole the sun from the people and earth was driven into darkness // Но однажды небесный лось похитил у людей солнце, и на земле наступила ночь

Only brave hunter Mani with his dogs started to chase the elk // И только смелый охотник Мани со своими собаками пустился в погоню за лосем.

He shoot 3 times and the 3rd arrow found the elk. Then Mani returned the sun to the people and turned into stars in the night sky: Mani himself, his dogs and the elk become the Ursa Major and the ski trail of Mani — the Milky way. Ever after nights follow days and the space hunt repeats. Every evening elk steals the sun and Mani chases him and returns the sun in the morning //

Третьей стрелой пронзил он Небесного лося и вернул людям солнце, а сам с верными псами превратился в звезды: Мани, его собаки и лось стали Большой Медведицей, а лыжный след Мани — Млечным путем. С тех пор происходит смена дня и ночи, и космическая охота повторяется. Каждый вечер лось выкрадывает солнце, а Мани гонится за ним и к утру возвращает людям солнце.
