Korea Sommelier of the Year held for the fifth time with the great improvement, valuable expansion and rising reputation. The competition was founded to advance Korean wine culture and foster awareness among the Korean public about wine and sommeliers. It is the only competition in Korea that is not limited to one country or region but encompasses the whole world and all of its important wine producing countries and regions.
2015~2019 5years of history
It's already 5th year since the first KSOMM events. 5years ago, the identity started as simple Screw-shaped logo, but last year we redesigned ourselves more modern and flexible way. At first it started as a sommelier award, but now it runs Wine awards and fair, Wine list awards, master classes and sommelier summit.
To express accumulated time and express, we chose depth. We used open composition and stroke blend for the limitless expansion and diverse possibility. This year we want to contain expectation and imagination beyond the frame and active movement.
We refined the details of logo which we designed last year, in more simple and clear way to follow up the expansion of K-SOMM events.
Korea Sommelier Wine Awards, which held for third this year, is a wine contest focused on discovering wine that is best suitable for on-trade business. This competition opened paths for Korean on-trade buyers to discover new quality wines that suit their specific needs. The K-somm Wine List Award recognizes and acknowledges a remarkable wine list in Korean restaurants, hotels, brasseries, bistros, pubs and wine bars. The wine list is evaluated by the world's leading sommelier and wine experts.
