Rollie 35B To Leica M-Mount Lens Conversion

Rollei 35B to leica m-mount lens conversion
This is the 2nd lens conversion I've made, I chose the Rollei 35 because they have great Zeiss lenses but I was limited to the 35B or 35LED since the '35' models do not feature an aperture ring on the lens, which is needed for the conversion.
The Rollei lens is the easiest to remove out of all the cameras I've converted, simply 3 screws from the rear of the lens and cut some wires. The shutter is controller by a small lever behind the lens so added a small spring to hold it permanently open.
After taking a few measurements I took my template Leica mount file and added some features, using Solidworks. A small cylinder to seat the lens and screw holes were added to accommodate the Zeiss lens.
This was the first component I ever made with this lathe, there is another project on my profile showing how modified this vintage lathe to make precise lens parts. After machining the mount (left), I cut away the excess stock using a hacksaw and flipped the lens around to machine the front. After cutting the front profile, I can use the lathe to deburr and polish the part, much fater than by hand.
After finishing the part I mounted it to the Zeiss Triotar lens and calibrated the focus of the lens using a fuji XE-1.

Rollie 35B To Leica M-Mount Lens Conversion

Here I take the lens from a Rollie 35B and adapt it to Leica m-mount. The Zeiss Triotar lens it sports is quite sharp and very compact.
