Salt and pepper are opposites, yet they always go together.
Dichotomy: division or contrast between two things that are represented as being opposed or entirely different.
Counterpart: one of two parts that fit and complete each other.
And so, the pepper shaker fits perfectly inside the other, making it separate pieces but also part of a whole.
Taijitu is the Chinese symbol for yin and yang.
