ROTTEN FISH, SHOE POLISH AND WINE
Every two years Termenos townhall square is filled with tens of thousand of people, who come here from all over the region to attend the Egetmann Parade. It is one of the most traditional parades in the whole of South Tyrol. The theme of the parade unfolds around unpleasant Zenzi which will eventually be pushed into the "Altweibermühle" (Old Wives Mill) during the Egetmann Parade. What seems like a cruel ritual at first is indeed a century old tradition from the picturesque town of Termeno. A century old tradition with quite nasty rituals like smearing shoe polish, or blown up goat bladder in your face.
Because of the nasty nature of the parade, we decided to use a small camera set up. So we stuck with a Sony A6500 (Lenses: Walimex 12mm f2.8, Sony 18-105mm f4) and a Canon 6D (Lense: 17-40 mm). One of the upsides of using such a small set up was that we where able to move freely in this incredibly big crowd of more than 15.000 attendees.

One of our imperatives was to catch the great cultural significance of Egetmann for the region and to deliver the spirit of the parade to everyone who couldn't make it for this year.

Egetmann was our first project as a Collective. We launched the video on Facebook. It reached more than 15.000 people in the region within 2 days.
Rough shoot, great experience.
