Sexual harassment is a persistent problem for women of all ages and backgrounds. Many women have had the uncomfortable experience of feeling like an object. Such abuse can be emotional and physical.
It can come in the form of unwanted pinching, touching, slapping, grabbing or brushing up against someone. It also includes unwelcome sexual comments, attention, actions, gestures, stalking or exposure.
Online and offline. Somehow this has become “normalised” to some extent.
The project focuses on how it feels when this type of experience occurs using a book and exhibition piece to highlight how distressing these experiences can be.
