Compass Point Wayfinding

The brief was to create a way-finding system within a primary school where 29 different languages were spoken by the students. Meaning a navigation system that relied on clear and distinctive iconography for both students and parents.

The second challenge was to make the signs inter-changeable which allows the classrooms to change year groups without defying the way-finding system. We took inspiration from Bristol's historic harbour which influenced the form and colours that we pursued.

In addition to the interior signage we utilised the iconography we had created to paint an 11 metre wide mural on the front-side of the school which which encapsulates the theme of our design.
