Digital Glasgow branding and strategy brochure

Digital Glasgow

Brief
Glasgow City Council required an identity for their Digital Glasgow initiative. The Digital Glasgow brand needed to communicate the city’s reputation as a growing digital city and had to be innovative and engaging.  The identity needed to convey the range of tech companies in the city, its unique personality and its professionalism.  It must translate equally well in print, digital and social media formats.

My involvement
I came up with an identity for Digital Glasgow which featured a graphic element consisting of a stylised 'G' and horizontally flipped 'D' with squares and circles. The squares and circles are instantly recognisable as pixel elements, but they also represent connectivity. To mirror the fact that Glasgow's digital industry is constantly changing, the pixel elements also represent change by going from square to round the closer they get to the logotype.

Results
After the logo was approved, I went on to produce brand guidelines, a strategy document and a Powerpoint template for the brand. The client with delighted with what I produced and said it had exceeded her expectations.
