Inspired by the gradients from different sketching pencils and architectural sketches drawn with the STAEDTLER sketching pencils. The shape of the pencil holder gives a geometric shape similar to a modern concrete buildings and angles. With the use of grey tone paper to mimic the look of the concrete and also compliment on the shades of grey which the 12 pencils provided…

The idea behind the packaging was to create something that could last with a affordable cost. The focus on the packaging is not about fancy materials but a useful tool for users. 

Pencil packaging with a pencil holder design has been seen in many companies, and the problem I discovered is that short pencil could not use the holder anymore. Users are forced to slide the pencil out with the risk of sliding other pencils out.

For this design, I attempted to create a pencil holder that catered to long-used pencils, prolonging the packaging usefullness. The pencil holder consist of two sides with two sets of holes on each to hold the pencil tip (as shown in the image below).
