Marginalization & Media

The Arab Institute for Women (previously Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World) at the Lebanese American University was established in 1973 to focus on advancing women’s empowerment and gender equality through research, education, development programs, and outreach at the national, regional and international levels.

The objective of the project is to create posters and brochures for LAU’s Arab Institute for Women (formerly known as IWSAW) for the Human Rights Network within the context of the project “Coordination and Support for the Human Rights Issue Network.”

This project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the purpose of supporting and promoting “issue networks” of Civil Society Organizations, around several advocacy issues such as enhancing leadership skills of women and adolescent girls through economic empowerment and capacity building, and to show how the media affects people when it comes to the marginalized groups.
