When we think back on 80s and 90s Japanese animation classics, Dragon Ball would definitely come to mind. Admired by many, Akira Toriyama's iconic style is one of the most recognisable art styles to this day and has influenced a generation of artists around the world, including myself.
This series of illustrations is a tribute to the iconic scenery in Dragon Ball, taking a focus on something Toriyama is famous for - his unique world building.
Round shapes combined with highly modern structures, martial arts and East Asian traditional design make for a unique style of architecture that gives the world of Dragon Ball it's own character.
