Ayurveda - An Effective Holistic Remedy For Hair Loss

The thought of tangled strands of hair on the hairbrush is enough to give every woman a few sleepless nights. Luckily for us, Ayurveda is one of the most effective approaches to hair loss treatment. It is the world’s oldest holistic medical system and has a plethora of remedies for various illnesses, including hair fall. Ayurvedic medicines are best for baldness, pattern baldness, hair fall and a lot of other hair problems.
What is the Ayurvedic system?

According to Ayurveda, everything in the universe is made up of five elements, which are air, water, fire, earth and ether, and three doshas, which are vata, pitta and kapha. Imbalance in these elements and doshas is the main reason for health problems. According to experts, when the pitta dosha deteriorates, we experience hair fall.

What are the remedies?

Ayurveda recommends the use of natural herbs, fruits and flowers for treating hair loss. Let us look at some of them:

Amla

Amla, or Indian Gooseberry, helps boost immunity. It contains fatty acids, which help strengthen hair follicles and Vitamin C, which prevents premature greying. It is also a rich source of iron, powerful antioxidants, carotene and gallic acid, which help stimulate hair growth and prevents hair loss by improving circulation of blood around the scalp.

Bhringraj

Bhringraj, also called false daisy, is proven to be an effective ingredient for hair care. Massaging the scalp with bhringraj oil can help improve hair growth and reduce hair fall. You can even make your own bhringraj oil. Dry some bhringraj leaves and put them in coconut oil. Keeping the container out in the sun for one or two days will change the color of the oil to a light green. This oil can now be applied on your head.

Shikakai

Acacia Concinna, traditionally known as shikakai in Ayurveda, has been used for hair care since ancient times. It cleans your hair, which makes it an excellent natural alternative to shampoo. Antioxidants and the vitamins A, C, D and K are also abundantly found in shikakai. They keep hair nourished and aid in healthy growth.

Reetha

Reetha, or soapnut, is a great natural option for shiny and nourished hair. It is a saponin, which means that it has cleansing properties that keep the hair and scalp clean, thus preventing hair fall. Nowadays, many shampoos and cleansers list reetha as an important ingredient.

Ayurveda is not just about using these natural remedies. You also need to maintain a strict and healthy lifestyle regime. The basic idea behind the Ayurvedic system is to prevent the occurrence of diseases by making some changes in lifestyle in accordance with natural cycles. A well-functioning body is important for preventing hair loss. Cleaning out our inner system can help balance the doshas, which can further help us prevent hair loss.
