The Gift Of The Magi
A set of illustrations and book cover design for a good old classical novel by O.Henry, "The Gift Of The Magi".
The story tells of a young husband and wife and how they deal with the challenge of buying secret Christmas gifts for each other with very little money. It is a very sentimental story with a moral lesson about gift-giving.
All of the illustrations are done digitally, using a Wacom Cintiq graphic tablet and Adobe Photoshop. The mock-up of the book is put together using Adobe InDesign.
It's been one of my favorite project to work on so far, the novel is so beautiful — it gives me goosebumps every time I read it. Here are some more details:
