Il libro di scuola negli anni Sessanta e Settanta

Il libro di scuola negli anni Sessanta e Settanta.
Il declino dell'editoria scolastica in Italia.

Textbooks in the 1960s and 1970s.
Decline of educational publishing in Italy.

The book investigates textbooks published in Italy during the 1960s and 1970s, an historical era usually left out and less studied compared to previous eras, like Fascism. The mentioned decline of the title is especially referred to the publishing product appearance, which had its heydays during the 1940s.

The publication includes an overview on the developement of educational publishing in Italy, related to the changing of laws. Then two editions
of the same book published in different eras, before and after the Legge Ermini of the 1955 are compared, to check editorial design changes in accordance with the law.

Two publishing houses are discussed in the book: Giunti, a laic Florentine publishing house which has always been in the industry since the 1850, and Editrice La Scuola, a Lombardic catholic publishing house.

Most of the books were photographed @ the Giunti archive in Florence.
