You are what you wear.

The iron is associated with one of the least popular household activities. Everybody dislikes it, yet every household has it.  Its mass production began around mid 20th century. As much other appliances at the time its appereance was done in a streamline style, which other than its estetics.had no pragmatic reasoning.
Still, design icons arose from the period and today we see them with a form of nostalgia.
No matter if you use a cleaning service, or just avoid it, there comes a time one must use an iron in order to look right and make a good impression. Looking "right" is what is all about, the fifties housewife knew it best. Although much has changed since that time, we still live in a wrinkle obsessed society.

IRONic is an iron that aims to be not only an aplliance but also a stylish gadet. An elegant object to be put in plain sight, and within reach. Inspired by streamlined shapes from the golden era of appliances, its apperance is also a result of certain functional improvments.
The smoothly curved double pointed shape facillitates the ironing of pleats, collars and small details. It is cordless so it can be used in any direction. Touch sensors in the handle detect if it is in use and manage the rising from the surface according to it, making it less likely for the iron to fall down and reducing arm fatigue.
