macOS window management concept

A simple and efficient macOS.
Goodbye Clutter.
With a better windows management the old desktop metaphor is no longer needed. No more floating windows that waste space and are cumbersome to arrange. Instead apps always use the full screen and macOS has fast, easy and flexible splitscreen-capabilities.
A new Paradigm. Completely familiar.
The screens-history bar shows all last used app like on iOS. It replaces mission control and is integrated into the springboard, the new starting point for the mac.
But because this is a Mac, you can also pin apps in the screens-history and rearrange them the way you want.
Without the old desktop and with an intelligent power management and the screens-history there is no need to close or minimize an app. And no need for the traffic light buttons. Simply swipe between apps and swipe up to go to the springboard. Just like on the iPad.
Splitscreens. Done easy.
Pinch with four fingers and the app snaps to the left side of the screen. The reverse gesture takes the app back to fullscreen.
You can also pinch with four fingers and then drag the app to create a splitscreen where you want to.
Or drag apps onto each other in the springboard.
Slide-Over.
Use slide-over like on the iPad for a quick interaction. You can freely resize the app and put it everywhere. Slide-over can also be accessed in the springboard.
There you can take any app and make it a slide-over app.
The Next Step.
Integrating the today view and the notification center into the springboard makes everything accessible with one gesture. This new home for the mac is the true control center.
A clean Desktop for big displays.
Big displays need small windows. That means: A desktop and the ability to resize an app. But apps replace instead of overlap each other. Or they neatly sit side by side without the need to push windows around. And there is still the advantage of switching between all apps with a swipe.
Further notes.
The same splitscreen-gestures could also work on the iPad for a unified experience of macOS and iOS.
A 3/4-fingers-swipe down gives an overview of all fullscreens/splitscreens/tabs of one app (like exposé).
When using a mouse on the Mac: Same swipe gestures with one finger less (like now) and optional dock-icon for springboard (like now with launchpad). Dragging an app by pulling on its tool-bar could have the same effect as a 4-fingers-pinch for splitscreen-creation.
Like now there could be different options for how the order of the apps in the screen-history behaves (not rearrange based on recent use).

A simple and efficient macOS.

Pixel-perfect Fullscreens.
Powerfull Splitscreens.
And Slide-Over
In a unified experience.
With easy and consistent gestures.
